This was in the news today. After stating that it would not come up with new laws on Guarded Communities, the Housing Ministry has done a welcomed about-turn. It is hoped that this will formalize the status of Gated/Guarded Communities once and for all. There are a few salient points in the news article that we in PH must look at.
I have got the following e-mail forwarded to me from another commitee member who handles accounts related matter and I felt that it is an important issue and need to be answered to. Keeping truth to our spirit of transparency, i think it will be best to post the e-mail here and my reply below it for anyone who are interested to view.

It is very encouraging to see that more and more residents are participating in PH community affairs by posting their concerns. This is exactly what we must have.
My apologies for this delay in responding to you. It must be boring to hear my same excuse of pressure of work. But it is true.
Today we received from our security company the 1st Feb 2010 sticker entry implementation report. Please have a look. Thanks.
The following is the official Handover and Assignment (HA) letter on Security Management Services from FiveStar Development (FDSB) to Puchong Hartamas Residents Association (PHRA). Together with this letter I also attach the Supplement Agreement (SA) as reference.
You can see from the SA that the Security Management Services will be eventually handed over to the Committee at point 6.
